![]() New Jersey Clean Energy Program's CORE (Customer On-Site Renewable Energy) Rebate ProgramAll ratepayers in New Jersey are entitled to financial incentives through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. Financial incentives are available to reduce the overall cost of your renewable generation system. Incentives are currently paid based on the size of the system installed. The incentive levels, which can defray installation, equipment and interconnection costs, are shown on the following chart:

An SREC can be sold or traded separately from the generated power and therefore creates an added cost benefit to the owner. SRECs can provide a substantial amount of incremental value to the owner, greatly enhancing the financial value of the solar system. All NJ based solar system owners with grid-connected systems can participate in New Jersey's SREC program. SREC is a tradable certificate that represents all the clean energy benefits of electricity generated from a solar electric system. Each time a solar electric system generates 1000kWh (1MWh) of electricity, an SREC is issued which can then be sold or traded separately from the power. This makes it easy for individuals and businesses to finance and invest in clean, emission free solar power. All solar system owners in New Jersey with grid-connected generators can participate in New Jersey's SREC Program. The SREC-Only Pilot Program is designed to enable New Jersey customer-generators to participate in the SREC market without participating in the CORE rebate program. New customers and customers already in the CORE program queue are eligible to participate in the SREC-Only Pilot Program, but CORE Program customers must forgo their CORE program rebate to do so. The SREC-Only Pilot Program is intended to provide customers and project developers with more flexibility to choose to accelerate project development, provided they are comfortable with their project financials without the benefit of a rebate. SRECs will change in the market depending on supply and demand.
